We are proud to announce the involvement of our Qudit group in the recently formed Quantum Technologies Commission under the Ministry of Science in Chile. This marks a significant step towards the integration of academic expertise and governmental efforts to
harness and secure quantum technologies.
The Commission, spearheaded by the Ministers of Interior and Public Security, Carolina Tohá, and of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation, Aisén Etcheverry, aims to develop strategic guidelines and public policy recommendations. These will focus on
the potential and risks associated with quantum technologies, particularly in cybersecurity.
Our group leader, Dardo Goyeneche, represents Qudit as one of the eight appointed experts. His participation ensures that Qudit’s cutting-edge research and development are at the forefront of national strategic planning in quantum technologies. The commission’s
objective is to craft a roadmap that not only explores the advancements in quantum computing but also safeguards against the inherent security vulnerabilities.
This initiative underscores the vital role of collaboration between academia and government in pioneering areas like quantum computing, which holds profound implications for security and technological advancement at the national and global levels.
We are committed to contributing our expertise to this exciting new venture, helping to shape the future of quantum technologies in Chile and beyond.
